Frankly, I don’t find this an injustice. Honestly, its just a shirt. It doesn’t matter if your dark skin, light skin, mexican, brazilian, british..etc. We should all love our hair! I highly doubt this shirt is to be specifically marketed to black females. I am not intetionally undermining the fact that the girl is seemingly lighter than the original one from the video. But honestly, it’s not an issue unless you make it an issue for yourself. Black women aren’t the only ones with curly hair. Its a cute shirt, and I would by it guiltless.
I am more proud of the fact that black women all around are accepting the hair that grows out of their head. I also find it ignorant when people try to hate on those black women that continue to relax their hair. Do what you want, its YOUR hair. I’ve come to embrace it all. Relaxed hair is just as apart of African-American culture as natural hair is coming to be. I’m okay with that.
